Frequently asked questions
In short: what each module does, and how it helps you.
What are Smart labels?
Smart labels group your products into four buckets based on profitability over the last 150 days: Champions — strong net margin and enough sales to trust the number, worth scaling. Assistants — good margin but few sales, or unsold products with high potential margin, worth testing. Sleepers — selling but with a thin margin or high return rate, worth repricing or fixing. Enemies — losing money after ad spend, worth excluding from advertising.
Products with no sales in the period are never Sleepers. They are judged on potential margin (selling price vs. cost): high potential margin makes them an Assistant (worth testing), low makes them an Enemy.
A product that has been out of stock for 48 hours or more is always an Enemy — you can't advertise what you can't ship. Once it's back in stock, it automatically returns to its normal bucket.
Products without a cost of goods get no label — without cost we can't calculate profitability, and we never guess. If a label stops applying (for example the cost disappears), it is cleared in Google Merchant Center on the next sync, so stale labels don't linger.
The scoring window is 150 days. If the store hasn't granted Promoosh access to its full order history (read_all_orders), at most 60 days are used and the app shows a notice about it.
The labels are written to Google Merchant Center as a custom label (custom_label_0–4, you pick the slot). They refresh automatically every 6 hours, and you can run a manual sync anytime with “Sync now” in the Smart labels tab.
In Google Ads you can use the labels to steer Shopping/Performance Max: create separate campaigns or product groups per label, bid higher on Champions and Assistants, and exclude Enemies. Your ads then follow your profitability automatically instead of a list you have to update manually.
How do I connect Claude to Promoosh?
The MCP connector lets you ask Claude about your own Promoosh figures — profit, campaigns, products, SEO and competitor prices — and get answers based on live data. Go to Settings → Account → Connected AI apps, copy the connector URL and add it as a custom connector in Claude (Customize → Connectors). Sign in to Promoosh and approve.
Access is read-only: Claude can see the figures but cannot change anything in Promoosh, your store or your ad accounts. You only get data from the modules in your plan, and you can revoke access any time under Connected AI apps. Remember that the AI provider you connect (Anthropic) receives the figures you ask about.
If you have several stores in Promoosh, say which one you mean — Claude can list them for you. Example questions: “What was my profit last week compared with the week before?”, “Which campaigns lost money this month?”, “Where are my competitors cheaper than me?”.
Full guide, every tool and ready-made prompts →What is the Product Advisor?
The Product Advisor gives you a table of all your products with sales, stock, cost of goods, profit, margin and ad spend per product. It combines Shopify (sales, stock, cost) with Google Ads and Meta Ads (ad spend per product), so you can see which products actually make money — and which ones cost you.
It also computes “days of stock left”, flags slow-movers and best-sellers, and gives a rule-based recommendation per product (increase budget, reduce, pause, advertise, or exit). The “Sales by Brand” tab aggregates the same per brand.
What is server-side tracking?
Server-side tracking is how Promoosh reliably sends purchases back to Google and Meta. Instead of only a browser pixel (which ad blockers or consent can stop), the purchase is captured via a Web Pixel in Shopify and sent server-to-server to the Meta Conversions API and Google Enhanced Conversions.
This gives more stable conversion data, helping the ad algorithms learn which purchases actually come from ads. It also fills the Channel column in Orders Overview and the True ROAS column in Ads Performance with real figures.
Everything only happens with customer consent (Shopify's consent mechanism), and the data is hashed and forwarded server-to-server only — never directly from the pixel to the ad platform.
What is Ads Automation?
Ads Automation is the module where Promoosh proposes and — after your approval — performs changes to your ad account. The AI advisor analyses your campaigns and suggests budget changes and pauses, and automation rules can be set up to do so on fixed criteria.
Nothing changes without approval — everything goes through the approval queue. AI ad-copy generation and the Ad Launcher also live here, and every write goes through the approval queue, never directly to the account.
What is Profitability?
Profitability shows your actual profit live — not distorted by large inventory purchases the way standard bookkeeping often is. It matches landed cost to each sold product (FIFO, weighted average or most-recent cost), subtracts ad spend (Google + Meta) and operating costs, and shows gross and net result at any point mid-month.
It also includes a per-market view (if you sell in several countries), VAT handling and a profit trend chart.
What is Orders Overview?
Orders Overview shows each individual order with date, channel, amount, cost of goods, shipping, total cost and gross profit. It uses the same figures as Profitability, so there is one truth across the modules.
The Channel column is filled by server-side tracking (once live) and shows which ad channel led to the purchase. Cost of goods is colour-coded: real cost vs. estimated fallback.
What are Reports?
The Reports module lets you build your own report by dragging and dropping tiles (net profit, channel revenue, ads KPIs, orders, products, markets, daily trend), save the layout and export to CSV.
The weekly report is an AI-written summary of your progress (profit, channels, markets, products and prioritised recommendations) delivered by email and in the app.
What is Ads Performance?
Ads Performance is a Google Ads Manager-style overview of your advertising, with three tabs: Campaigns (budget, spend and ROAS per campaign), Products (ad spend and profit per product) and Ads (individual ads with KPIs).
The Campaigns tab lets you pause/enable campaigns and change budgets directly (everything goes through the approval queue), and has an AI advisor that writes a report with concrete suggestions. The Products tab shows net profit per product with exactly the same figure as the Product Advisor. The Ads tab shows individual ads with clicks, impressions, cost and ROAS.
