Data and privacy
What data Promoosh stores, what is never stored in plain text, and where to find the legal documents.
What Promoosh stores
- From Shopify: orders with amounts, products, destination country and only the first two digits of the postcode (a region) — never the street address, city, full postcode or name. Plus products, stock and cost prices.
- From your ad accounts: campaigns, ads and metrics such as impressions, clicks, spend and conversions.
- From tracking: events in the store. See Tracking and consent for what happens when a visitor declines.
Promoosh never asks Shopify for the customer's street address.
Match keys for Google and Meta
When purchases are forwarded to Google or Meta and the buyer has consented, name, email, phone, city, region, postcode and country are used as match keys. They are normalised and hashed with SHA-256 before they are sent, and are never stored in plain text.
AI
The AI features in the app, such as Ask Promoosh and the weekly report, use an external AI model provider under our instructions. If you connect Claude via MCP, Anthropic, which provides Claude, receives the figures you ask about. Claude can only read, never change — see Using Claude with MCP.
